Announcing the 2013 Speed Mentoring Marathon
ACCES is happy to announce the 2013 Speed Mentoring® Marathon. The event will be held on May 16, 2013 at the Toronto Region Board of Trade. The mentoring marathon will bring together 100 mentors from Canada’s leading businesses and 100 new Canadians seeking industry insight and advice.
Speed Mentoring® provides a unique networking opportunity for internationally trained professionals to meet with mentors who can provide valuable advice and sector specific knowledge. The Speed Mentoring® Marathon is a large-scale event that will engage mentors from various sectors including financial services, engineering, human resources, sales and marketing and information technology sectors. Mentees will meet with mentors in the Speed Mentoring® format, followed by an open networking session and reception. We’re looking forward to a wonderful evening of sharing, learning, and networking with mentors, clients, corporate partners and funders.
Experts assemble at ACCES to collaborate on the future of language service delivery
Earlier this year, ACCES Employment welcomed 50 service professionals for the 12th event in the #CdnImm series to collaborate on and discuss the topic of language service delivery. Participants represented a diverse cross-section of professionals from community agencies, government and educational institutions.
The #CdnImm event series evolved from online discussions surrounding the Canadian immigration sector. The aim of this 12th event was to gain knowledge and share best practices on: service coordination of language services for newcomers; identifying and exploring hot topics in newcomer language services; the launch of the Coordinated Language Assessment and Referral System (CLARS).
Event emcee and host, Aimee Holmes, Project Manager for Language for Workplace Connections at ACCES Employment said, “#CdnImm events allow us to see where our objectives align, help break down barriers that keep us in silos, and provide an opportunity to be reflective on our work.”
