Entrepreneurship Connections - National Events

Entrepreneurship Connections helps newcomers who plan to start a business in Canada. If you have owned or operated a business outside Canada, or would like to launch one here, this innovative and informative program will assist you with setting up a successful small business in the Canadian market. These information sessions will teach you more about the program, your eligibility, and how to apply.

Entrepreneurship Connections is now being offered nationally! In addition to our Toronto cohorts, we will be offering this unique program in Ottawa, Vancouver, and Moncton. See below for upcoming information sessions.

Healthcare Connections

The Healthcare Connections program helps internationally educated healthcare professionals (IEHPs) find alternative career options in Canada. For those individuals who have selected not to pursue licensure in their perspective healthcare profession, or indiviuals looking for ways to stay connected to the healthcare industry while pursuing accreditation, Healthcare Connections will help identify new career opportunities.

This program is designed for IEHPs who possess healthcare expertise that can be transferred to one of four alternative careers:

  • Healthcare Supply Chain
  • Sales of Pharmaceuticals or Medical Supplies
  • Clinical Office Administration
  • Self-Employment (in a healthcare context)

Program Benefits

  • Acquire the information necessary to transfer a specific healthcare skillset to one of four featured career options
  • Develop Canadian workplace communication skills that pertain to the healthcare profession in Canada
  • Develop a BioTalent Canada portfolio that will assist career planning by identifying transferable skills
  • Receive ‘BioReady™’ recognition and gain access to ‘BioSkills Match’, anational database of BioReady talent
  • Receive one-to-one employment support featuring job search strategies, employment placement, and/or business start-up coaching
  • Connect with mentors who are established professionals
  • Connect with employers who are recruiting and hiring from ACCES Employment's programs
  • Access post-hire support or ongoing business coaching as needed

Healthcare Connections is free of charge and funded by the Government of Canada.

ACCES Connect: Online Employment Services

ACCES Connect is an online portal designed to prepare you for career success in Canada. Our services provides self-guided e-learning workshops on various job search related topics. In addition, you can access exclusive live webinars, upcoming events, and job leads. To be eligible for our services, you should be legally entitled to work in Canada. If you are already an ACCES client, you do not need to register again. Contact a staff member to find out how you can log into our online portal.

In order to serve your needs, the following registration includes questions related to your previous work experience, educational background, and your eligibility to work in Canada.

ACCES Connect: Online Employment Services Across Canada

You can access our free online job search services from anywhere in Canada! If you are new to Canada, and looking for employment, this exclusively online program can help you.

Engineering Connections: Workplace Essentials for Engineers/ELT

This is a sector-specific language program tailored to internationally-trained engineering professionals. The program supports you to enhance your knowledge of technical terminology and writing skills with a focus on the engineering sector. Participants also learn job search skills that support their entry into the engineering field, commensurate with their skills and education.

The program includes:

  • Introduction to the Canadian workplace culture, specifically in the engineering field
  • Introduction to the PEO licensing process
  • Introduction to engineering Codes and Standards
  • Working in engineering teams in the Canadian environment
  • Technical report writing, and use of social media for job searching
  • Support to enhance grammar and pronunciation
  • Resume writing and interview preparation
  • Access to mentoring and networking opportunities
  • Support with job search and employer connections

Upon completion of the program, you will upgrade your official Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) and receive a certificate of completion. Following the six-week program, you will work one-on-one with an Employment Consultant and Job Developer who will support you in your job search.
